Is it our reasonable scientific thinking about our faith and the world around us? Or is it our message of “Jesus makes everyone happy”? Or is it the abuse of the term ‘spiritual warfare’ saying there’s demons in our flat tires? I’m not sure what the reason is but we have fallen asleep in the midst of a battle. Satan is here working overtime to deceive, lie, kill and destroy us and many of us couldn’t be bothered with it. It’s a war that’s waging and somehow we’ve forgotten about it. Yet when pausing we might realize we are in a battle but we’re numbing ourselves to the defeat we feel with self pity, self loathing, self medicating, staying busy and always distracting ourselves. It’s time to wake up! It’s time to rise up and tell the enemy he’s already lost and begin walking in the victory Christ has provided for us at the cross.

This weekend we will start a new series entitled “The Forgotten War: Waking up to the spiritual battle you’re already in”. Matt’s prayer for our church is that we would be equipped by this series to rise up as prophetic warriors and take our place of victory in the battle field. That we would learn to walk in Christ’s victory in our hearts, minds and souls and fight for those around us!
