PreK and TK – January
January was the month for WINTER! The class covered topics about arctic animals, winter clothing, and snow. In PreK and Tk it is more about concepts and answering the why? questions. Why does it snow in some places and not others? Why do arctic animals have white fur? One activity this month was learning about penguins. The anatomy of the penguin and facts about penguins such as they are bird but they don’t fly. The activity was constructing their own penguin after discussing the parts of a penguin. The development of recognition and visual comprehension was the key learning skills through this activity. As you can see, the class was able to put what they heard and understand in circle onto paper.
